Mid-Weight Digital Designer

We’re on the hunt for a passionate Mid-Weight Digital Designer ready to make their mark in a dynamic agency setting. We need someone who values both quality and innovation and is eager to dive into projects, pushing boundaries, and supporting our team to reach its full potential. We want someone who is digitally savvy with an aptitude to adopt new technologies, including AI, to improve design quality and efficiency.

Key details
Salary: £30-40k depending on experience
Eligibility: UK citizen or resident with right to work in UK
Contract: Permanent

Start date: ASAP
Location: Primarily remote, with availability to travel within UK and internationally
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours Monday to Friday with flexible working practices. Other options may be possible; for discussion during recruitment process
Core responsibilities
  • Create visually compelling digital designs for a variety of medical communication materials, including websites, infographics, presentations, e-learning modules, and social media content

  • Ensure all designs adhere to client brand guidelines and regulatory standards

  • Develop interactive and multimedia content to enhance user engagement and information retention

  • Work closely with medical writers and account teams to translate complex medical information into clear, engaging visuals

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative concepts and design solutions that meet client objectives

  • Provide design expertise and insights during client meetings and presentations

  • Maintain organised files and documentation for all design projects, ensuring easy access and retrieval

  • Implement and follow best practices for design processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency across projects

  • Clear and effective communication with all team members to ensure effective resource planning and workflow

Experience and knowledge
  • At least 2 years working in an agency or similar environment

  • Medical communications experience desirable, but not essential

  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and best practices

  • Core experience with key design platforms:

  • Figma including combination of quick wireframing, pixel perfect UI designs across multiple breakpoints, prototyping and design system creation and maintenance

  • Adobe Creative suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)

  • Additional experience or willingness to learn further platforms:

  • Video & animation (Premiere Pro, After Effects)

  • HTML email clients such as Mailchimp/Stripo

  • Basic HTML/CSS/Javascript knowledge, and Wordpress sites and theming

  • Visual web builders such as Webflow/Framer

  • Figjam to create client presentations and interactive workshop session boards

  • Strong ability to conceptualise and execute innovative design solutions

  • Keen eye for detail and aesthetics, ensuring high-quality visual output

  • Ability to understand and accurately represent complex medical and scientific information

  • High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of design work

  • Meticulous in ensuring all designs meet brand guidelines and regulatory requirements

  • Resourceful and innovative in finding creative solutions to design challenges

  • Ability to adapt and respond to feedback constructively

  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

  • Dedication to staying current with industry trends, tools, and best practices

  • Enthusiasm for professional development opportunities, such as workshops, conferences, and courses
